Human Resources Associate

Job Summary:

Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a motivated and qualified high energy Human Resources Associate II to support the Organizational Development and Human Resources Department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to provide World Class Customer Service while promoting the community bank experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Administrating, and implementing associate benefits program including group health (medical/dental/vision) coverage, life insurance, disability insurance and total associates’ rewards package.
  • Processing associate termination/resignation, including securing the final paycheck, administering COBRA notification and completing separation form.
  • Extracting and compiling a variety of HR data for consolidation into management/board reports, including Affirmative Action reports, insurance and benefits information, FTE and etc.
  • Independently coordinates department projects such as Teach Children to Save Day and United Way campaigns.
  • Providing worker’s compensation claim forms to injured employees and processing claims to insurance carrier & follow-up with worker’s compensation agency regarding any outstanding claims.
  • Administering all leaves of absences including FMLA, PDL and CFRA.
  • Supporting many HR daily functions, including recruitment, associate anniversaries, and associate parking.
Education and Experience (required):
  • A.A. degree preferred, high school diploma required.
  • Human Resources Management Certificate or specialized Human Resources training required, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two to four years of work experience in Human Resources.
Skills (required):
  • Ability to relate to people in an open, friendly, and accepting manner.
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Must be a self starter, motivated, take initiative, and have strong inter-personal skills.
  • Must have project planning, organizational and tracking skills
  • Must have excellent Critical and Analytical skills
  • Must be an proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Assistant Branch Manager

La Cumbre
 
 

Job Summary:

Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a motivated and qualified Assistant Branch Manager to support the La Cumbre Branch. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to provide World Class Experience while promoting the community bank atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Managing branch’s retail staff; direct supervision of Personal Bankers.
  • Ensuring that branch staff provides high level of quality customer service.
  • Developing and implementing annual and long-range business plans for the branch.
  • Assuming overall responsibility and accountability for the branch’s adherence to sales, service and operations policies and procedures in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Ensuring that staff is properly trained on new products, services and procedures.
  • Regularly conducting operational and sales meetings to educate, motivate and incent staff.
  • Oversee cross-selling efforts of the branch staff; facilities staff referral of Bank and investment products and services.
  • Ensure staff compliance with Bank regulations, requirements and procedures.
Education and Experience (required):
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; college degree desirable.
  • Minimum two years sales experience in the financial services industry.
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience preferable.
Skills (required):
  • Knowledge of bank operations, security policies, practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability of good business decision-making skills.
  • Computer literate, proficient in related Software in a Windows based environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills evidenced in both verbal and written communications as well as excellent listening skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.

  • Develop client relationships.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities.

Commercial Real Estate Lending Officer

Job Summary:

Montecito Bank & Trust, a growing, premier-performing, privately owned, community bank, serving the tri-county area for more than 34 years, is seeking a motivated, qualified, and energetic Commercial Real Estate Lending Officer to join the Community Lending Department (CLD).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Screening and analyzing a variety of commercial real estate and construction loan applications.
  • Coordinating the credit function and the business development function to enhance the bank’s loan portfolio in terms of credit quality, loan volume, and profitability.
  • Managing relationships and coordinating the CRE transactions within the portfolio with CLD Relationship Managers.
  • Analyzing, structuring, and presenting loan requests for approvals.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to junior lenders to insure that they deliver on MB&T’s vision of World Class Experience to both external and internal customers.
  • Administering relationships and providing team support and guidance within CLD and with Bank associates.
Education and Experience (required):
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Ten years commercial real estate lending experience required.
  • Investor and owner-user CRE mortgage and construction experience required.
  • SBA 504 Lending preferred.
  • Proven experience with appraisal review and tax analysis required.
Skills (required):
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting, cash flows, reviewing environmental reports and real estate underwriting.
  • Strong understanding of real estate law, construction law and real estate principles and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Development and SBA/504,

Relationship Manager

Job Summary:

Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking motivated and qualified Relationship Managers to support the Bank’s Community Lending Department in the Ventura and Santa Barbara County communities. This is an exciting opportunity for proven Lenders to provide a World Class Experience as they develop strong customer relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Developing, managing and growing a sound and profitable loan portfolio.
  • Identifying opportunities and underwriting proposals from a moderate to complex base of commercial & industrial clients and prospects.
  • Consulting with small to medium sized businesses, non-profit organizations and high net worth individuals.
  • Managing business development activity, building a pipeline, qualifying prospects, expanding relationships, and retaining customers.
  • Actively calling on customers and prospects, developing referral sources and contacts, and innovatively structuring proposals with proper covenants.
  • Ensuring timely monitoring, renewal, payment and early classification of problematic credits to maintain ongoing soundness of the loan portfolio.
  • Developing loan business to middle market clients, with familiarity in financing owner-occupied properties and an understanding of trusts/estates.
  • Presenting and discussing proposals to senior management and to loan committee to obtain expressions of interest and formal loan commitments
  • Working closely with the branches to assure they remained aware of the progress and the underwriting decision.
Education and Experience (required):
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business-related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five years experience in Business Banking required.
  • Experience in managing a commercial loan portfolio required.
Skills (required):
  • Strong knowledge of Business Banking credit policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of credit/financial statement analysis, loan structuring, cash flow analysis and accounting skills.
  • Solid understanding of products and services applicable to target client segment.
  • Strong analytic skills including analysis of collateral values, loan purpose, repayment sources, key risks and mitigants.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Banking credit policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills evidenced in both verbal and written communications as well as excellent listening skills.

Senior Credit Administrator

Job Summary:

Montecito Bank & Trust, a growing, premier-performing, privately owned, community bank, serving the tri-county area for more than 34 years, is seeking a motivated, qualified, and energetic Senior Credit Administrator to join the Credit Administration Department (CAD).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with lending officers during the credit evaluation process regarding the appropriate analysis needed, risk management measures, and overall deal structure.
  • Providing approval for credit requests and policy exceptions within designated authority.
  • Maintaining credit policies and lending guidelines in relation to likely economic and business trends, including recommendation and implementation of appropriate changes.
  • Working with the Chief Credit Officer and General Counsel, direct the workout and loss mitigation function for the Bank’s credit.
  • Identifying, managing, and performing commercial and real estate loan desk top reviews with a focus on adherence to loan policy, loan underwriting, appropriate risk rating assignment, and compliance to regulations.
  • Providing leadership, mentorship and coaching to CAD team members to deliver on MB&T’s vision of World Class Experience to both external and internal customers.
Education and Experience (required):
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or other related preferred, or demonstrated expertise based on commensurate years of experience.
  • Minimum of ten years commercial and real estate lending experience required.
  • An emphasis in credit portfolio management and analytics preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience or leadership role required
Skills (required):
  • Proficiency required for software programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, ITI, and spread sheet programs (e.g., CASH).
  • Intermediate level of expertise in credit portfolio management analytics and reporting required.
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Must be a self starter, motivated, take initiative, and have strong inter-personal skills.
