Performance
Our equity investment performance objective is to outperform the markets over time, without exposing our clients to excessive market risk. We do this by taking a disciplined approach to investing in high quality stocks with superior long-term performance characteristics. We resist the temptation to speculate in lesser known companies, unproven startups, or trendy investment fads.

Portfolio Composite (PDF)
The Tactical Allocation
Portfolio (TAP) utilizes an indexing approach to obtain broad and cost effective
diversification to the equity
market using Exchange Traded Funds (ETF's). The portfolio includes allocations to nine
sub-asset classes, as shown here.
The broad diversification of the Tactical Allocation Portfolio has historically helped
the portfolio generate higher returns than the S&P 500 index, while experiencing
less volatility. The Tactical Allocation Portfolio uses a disciplined rebalancing process
to insure that each portfolio's asset allocation optimizes the "diversification benefit"
while still allowing for the ability to "tilt" the portfolio toward the asset
classes with the highest anticipated returns.
Fixed Income
We do not actively trade bonds as a source of growth or appreciation in investment portfolios. Therefore,
returns in the bond portion of portfolios will track closely with the interest income received from bond coupons.
Historically, bond coupon income has averaged between 5% to 8% depending on credit quality and maturity.
Typically we develop a diversified portfolio of bonds (treasury, agency, corporate, and tax-free) with short to intermediate maturities. Over time, this approach will offset short-term market interest rate fluctuations and provide a reliable and sustainable income stream for our clients.
