L. Mark Fingerlin

Mr. Fingerlin is Executive Vice President of
Montecito Bank & Trust where he manages the Trust and
Investment Division. He also serves as the bank’s Chief
Investment Officer with responsibility for $700 million of bank
and client assets.
Mr. Fingerlin’s career includes forty years
of experience in financial services and the investment management
area including senior and executive management responsibilities.
His career started at The Bank of New York, America’s oldest
bank, as an analyst. He is a graduate of their management
training program and served as a commercial lending officer
focusing primarily on the needs of Fortune 500 companies and
government agencies. He was later appointed Chief Executive
Officer of a community bank in western New Jersey.
In 1984, Mr. Fingerlin moved to San Diego,
California to establish a unit of HomeFed Bank to underwrite and
fund the credit needs of major corporations. He subsequently
created the Private Banking Division for the bank, which
included HomeFed Trust Company. This company eventually grew to
become the largest company of its type in the western United
States. Mr. Fingerlin later became Chief Executive Officer for two
multi-billion dollar trust companies in southern California
before founding and serving as principal consultant for The
North Star Group, providing strategic planning and capital
formation services to businesses, not-for-profit corporations
and affluent individuals.
Mr. Fingerlin joined Montecito Bank & Trust
in 1998 with the intention of building the division into the
premier provider of trust and investment services in the Santa
Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo Tri-County region.
Mr. Fingerlin studied engineering at
Pennsylvania Military College and holds a degree in Economics
from Rider University. He has been designated as a Certified
Trust and Financial Advisor by the American Bankers Association.
