L. Mark Fingerlin

Mr. Fingerlin is Executive Vice President of Montecito Bank & Trust where he manages the Trust and Investment Division. He also serves as the bank’s Chief Investment Officer with responsibility for $700 million of bank and client assets.

Mr. Fingerlin’s career includes forty years of experience in financial services and the investment management area including senior and executive management responsibilities. His career started at The Bank of New York, America’s oldest bank, as an analyst. He is a graduate of their management training program and served as a commercial lending officer focusing primarily on the needs of Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. He was later appointed Chief Executive Officer of a community bank in western New Jersey.

In 1984, Mr. Fingerlin moved to San Diego, California to establish a unit of HomeFed Bank to underwrite and fund the credit needs of major corporations. He subsequently created the Private Banking Division for the bank, which included HomeFed Trust Company. This company eventually grew to become the largest company of its type in the western United States. Mr. Fingerlin later became Chief Executive Officer for two multi-billion dollar trust companies in southern California before founding and serving as principal consultant for The North Star Group, providing strategic planning and capital formation services to businesses, not-for-profit corporations and affluent individuals.

Mr. Fingerlin joined Montecito Bank & Trust in 1998 with the intention of building the division into the premier provider of trust and investment services in the Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo Tri-County region.

Mr. Fingerlin studied engineering at Pennsylvania Military College and holds a degree in Economics from Rider University. He has been designated as a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor by the American Bankers Association.

Ms. Chin has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. She began her career in 1980 with Merrill Lynch in Ann Arbor, Michigan eventually serving as an Operations Manager. In 1991 she relocated to Santa Barbara and worked at Santa Barbara Bank & Trust as a trust officer. Her experience in trust administration includes responsibility for probates, testamentary trusts, investment agencies, and charitable foundations, with specialization in personal trust and trust real estate management.

Ms. Chin joined Montecito Bank & Trust in January 1997 as Vice President and Senior Trust Officer, where she applies her background and years of experience for the benefit of the Trust Division’s clients. She received a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from St. Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana and is a Level III graduate of Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust Officer School. In January 2001 she earned her Juris Doctor from the Santa Barbara College of Law and in 2003 she completed the certificate program at UCSB as an ESL instructor. Currently, Ms. Chin serves on the board of Girls, Inc. Santa Barbara as the Finance Chair, and is a member of the Education and Personal Development Committee for the Santa Barbara Foundation. Ms. Chin is also an ESL instructor through the SBCC Adult Education program.

Ms. Tiffany brings to Montecito Bank & Trust over 18 years of experience in the development of new client relationships. She began her financial career in the Trust Department of NationsBank in Fort Myers, Florida, and later joined SunTrust Bank Southwest, as the market manager of their Sanibel-Captiva Island private bank. In both positions Ms. Tiffany worked with high net worth individuals, the business and estate planning community and local non-profit organizations.

Prior to joining Montecito Bank & Trust, Ms. Tiffany was the Director of Major Gifts at The Foundation for Santa Barbara City College. As well Ms. Tiffany has served as an Executive Director of two non-profit organizations and as a Special Assistant in the area of Trade and Energy issues to the Governor of Alaska from 1986-1990.

Ms. Tiffany received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Smith College and also attended Cannon Trust School. While in Florida, Ms. Tiffany was active on the board of a number of charitable and civic organizations.

Currently Ms. Tiffany serves on the board of The Santa Barbara Symphony, The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation and Work Training Programs, Inc.

Larry Edwards joined Montecito Bank & Trust in May 2007, in the capacity of Investment Officer/Portfolio Manager located in the bank's Valley Oaks Branch office in Solvang.

Larry has extensive investment management experience, having served as senior Portfolio Manager with Wells Fargo Private Client Services, Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, and Merrill Lynch.

Previously, Larry was President and Chief Operating Officer of Leland O’Brien Rubinstein Associates ("LOR"), an investment management and consulting firm specializing in various risk-management strategies (dynamic hedging), primarily for institutional accounts. During this time he also served as President and Director of LOR subsidiaries, and as President, Secretary, Treasurer and Director of the mutual fund that constituted the basis for six "SuperTrust" securities. One of these securities was the first successful exchange-traded fund (the "Index Trust SuperUnit", introduced November 5, 1992).

Prior to LOR, Larry was Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager with Western Asset Management Company in Los Angeles. He began his professional career as a Consultant/Portfolio Manager with Scudder Stevens & Clark in Los Angeles.

Larry co-authored a book with a former associate, "Power Investing With Basket Securities; The Investor's Guide to Exchange-Traded Funds," published January 2002.

His educational background includes: Stanford Graduate School of Business, MBA Finance; Naval Officers' Candidate School, Newport, RI, Commissioned Ensign; Occidental College, AB Business Administration; Chartered Financial Analyst; Member, CFA Institute.

Larry is a member of the Solvang Breakfast Rotary Club and the SYV Men's Forum. He and his wife, Janice, live in the Santa Ynez Valley.

 

 
Scott Estby

Mr. Estby is responsible for the day-to-day management of client portfolios, investment research and portfolio analysis. Prior to joining Montecito Bank & Trust, Mr. Estby was an Analyst at PlanMember Advisors Corporation, an investment advisory firm in Carpinteria, where he was responsible for fundamental equity analysis, analysis of asset classes, mutual fund analysis, and monthly and quarterly performance reporting.

Mr. Estby graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Atlantic University with a B.A. in Business Administration and International Business. In addition, Mr. Estby has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

 

 
Ricardo Calderon

Prior to joining Montecito Bank & Trust, Mr. Calderon has held positions in the Investment Division of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust as well as Citigroup Private Bank in San Francisco, California. Mr. Calderon is responsible for the day-to-day management of client portfolios, investment research and portfolio analysis.

Mr. Calderon graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in History and later completed the CPA Certification Program offered through the UCSB Extension Program. Mr. Calderon is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, having passed Level 2 in June 2005.
